Modern lenses are polycarbonate with a thin UV layer on top. Central Valley sun goes through that layer faster than almost anywhere, which is why so many cars here have it.
A hazed lens scatters the beam instead of projecting it. This is a night-driving problem before it is a looks problem.
A clean vehicle with cloudy yellow lenses reads as older and more tired than it is, which matters if you are selling it.
Badly hazed lenses get flagged, and it is a cheap thing to have held against you.
Headlights are one of the quicker jobs and often get added onto a wash or an interior on the same visit. If you are booking something else anyway, it is worth asking about at the same time.
A restoration without a proper UV coating on top will look excellent for a few months and then yellow again, because the layer that was protecting the plastic is exactly what got sanded away. If a cheap job has gone cloudy again quickly, that is almost always why.

Yes, and that is usually the easiest way to get it done.
Restoration will not fix either. That is a replacement, and we will tell you rather than sand a lens that needs changing.
The factory UV coating on the plastic breaks down in the sun. Once it fails, the bare polycarbonate underneath oxidizes. Restoration removes the failed layer and adds new protection.
Just remove your personal items and anything valuable. We handle everything else when we get there.
